    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend it because it taught me so much more than just what's in the United States. We, as a class analyzed different countries, and cultures, and got to compare the past to the present. Opened my eyes to a lot of the worlds issues.

    Course highlights:

My favorite thing from this course were the map quizzes. I loved studying for them. Her reasoning for these quizzes was to allow us to know where the countries that we were speaking of were located. Very intelligent women.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read ! Read ! Read ! This class is all about reading everything given to you, and more, and applying it to today's society, and to our daily class discussions. Studying is also extremely important, but it will be beneficial.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would only recommend the course based of the actual material discussed. The content learned was very interesting but can at times seem a tad bit biased. Be careful when you choose to vocalize your difference in opinion the best time to say your opposition would be the online discussions because your not graded based off what you say. There will be a lot of things that I personally didn't agree with especially with the teacher. For instance, sometimes the teacher would start the class before the supposed time. Also grades are never posted and when you ask her the status of your progression in the class it's more of an estimation of what she thinks your grade is.

    Course highlights:

The course had a lot of highlights when it comes to material. The most important unit that was stressed had to do with rape. Our teacher stressed the importance of identifying an abusive relationship understanding the characteristics and knowing there is more than one type of abuse not just physical. Her main focus was also to stress the class wasn't suppose to be attack on the male culture but instead highlighting on the minority female culture. She shed light on both genders and even got into more complicated topics such as transgenders and sexualities. But the class wasn't just about abuse and identity we also looked a child development, motherhood, religion, advertisement and school/college statistics.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't wait to the last minute to answer discussion board articles or questions. Read all the articles assigned even if she doesn't get to it. When studying for the final remember the few definition given in films viewed in class. Also, group your studying into categories this will make everything a lot easier to remember and manage. When reading the book beloved don't wait to the last minute it can be a lengthy read and gets very confusing. Best thing to do is read and take notes on how it relates to topics discussed in class and stick them on sticky notes exactly where you compared class to novel in the book.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Lovely teacher for a course that can be very heavy at times. However, she's very passive and doesn't seem to have strong opinions about topics herself. She tries to work both sides.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the other gender in this class. I learned a lot about the REAL struggle of women of all races and how hard it really for them on a daily basis. There's more to it than I originally thought and I'm very glad I know more now in today's society

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the paper early, it's easy and will make finals season a little easier.
