    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it offers a wonderful foundation for students interested in biology without getting too specific or technical with the terms. As a biology major this was the first course I had to take in my academic sequence, and it was a wonderful experience.

    Course highlights:

The teachers had a great passion for Biology that really showed through, and made it very easy for me to embrace the information in a way I had never had a chance to do in high school. The information was never extremely difficult, but the professors expected some level of background knowledge. In labs we were exposed to techniques that professional biologists would use to classify species, and were even allowed to use a real PCR machine to copy our DNA. I enjoyed this because the teachers really treated us like adults and allowed us to figure things out for ourselves at times. This was a big difference from high school science courses.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell them to review the notes daily. The information builds on itself and if you do not understand some of the introductory information it will be like trying to build a house on a faulty foundation. Also, always come to labs prepared because the professors will not wait for you, and expect you to know the procedure already.
