    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Accounting is the central foundation of any business. I would recommend this course because it gives students the competence and aptitude they need to understand accounting and perform their duties in the highest ethical standards. Budgets, costs, revenue, ethics, financial statements, and other factors are essential in learning accounting methods and their long-term effects.

    Course highlights:

When I took BUS 630: Managerial Accounting, I learned how to compute budgets, income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows. Moreover, this course taught me how to register transactions appropriately in order to ensure compliance with the law. Every week, I was required to research various companies and determine projections regarding their practices and financial stability. This type of research gave me the ability to improve my critical analysis and problem-solving skills, as well as enhance my understanding of pro forma financial statements.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

For many students, accounting can be a difficult course to successfully complete. During my tenure, I always took the time to remember formulas pertaining to a particular financial document (e.g. balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flows). This remembrance allowed me to accurately calculate different components within the financial documents and make projections based on present results. In addition, ethics and moral play a pivotal role in accounting. Being loyal when calculating a company's financial status is imperative for long-term growth, which in turn, can enhance any organization's reputation with the populace.
