Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This Introduction to literature course teaches about the many different literary tools authors use to write stories and poems. From understanding themes, to using different criticism styles to analyze what's being read, you will leave this class knowing how to have a more enriched reading experience.

    Course highlights:

I mainly learned how to read in a different way. Instead of just following the story and getting visit up in the characters and plot, I can now read from an psychoanalytic perspective, or from a formalist critical technique. This in turn, helps me further understand where the author is coming from and how people's values in different time periods varies in other eras.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be open to learning how to read in different techniques. If you do not enjoy reading, it may be a little difficult but not impossible to pass this course. Professor Grey is very good about answering back out you have questions about the assignments which helps a lot.
