Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I absolutely love everything I learned during this course. I learned what learning is and how to be an intentional learner. I reviewed critical learning strategies and exercised discipline needed to be a successful reader and writer, professionally, personally and academically.

    Course highlights:

During this course, I revisited learning strategies from the past with a new understanding and learned new strategies. For example, I was taught critical reading and writing back in my elementary days, but now I remember and understand the steps of these learning strategies so much more. In this class I got to learn and understand the type of learner I am; I am a strong-willed learner with high precision and sequence, and technical reasoning and confluence not far behind, but used less. Being high in precision and sequence means I follow directions after I fully understand what is being asked of me, and double check myself almost always. My technical reasoning and confluence were high as well but not as high as the other two characteristics of a learner; this means that I sometimes understand how to do something but do things in my way, having the same outcome. Knowing these things about myself is vital to my online learning experience because I now know what learning strategies come naturally to me and what strategies I have to use intentionally. I am a better student and overall a better learner because of this course, and I will be talking about this class and everything I learned from it for decades, passing my knowledge down to anyone who will listen.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay focused and determined to understand what the course is asking of you. During the first chapter, I got a little lost while reading because I didn't understand the characteristics of a learner. After completing the Learning Connections Inventory Assessment, I understood a learner's characteristics and understood myself as a learner. After that, just make sure you understand what you are reading so you do not get lost in all the information and scenarios given.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course to someone who has never taken it. This course allows you to look inside yourself and learn what kind of learner you are. I will carry with me the knowledge I have gained about myself for the rest of my education and working years.

    Course highlights:

In this course, I learned the value of the way that I learn and that there are many people out there who learn just like me. I feel more confident in myself as a college student than I did before I took this course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give to students who are considering taking this course is to be truly honest with your answers in the beginning of the class. The first week or so, you are given a Learning Connections Inventory assessment which the answers are used as a big part of your learning over the next few weeks. Make sure you take the time you need during this assessment and truly think about yourself and how to answer the questions. There are no right or wrong answers, but it highly benefits you to know how to answer about yourself.
