Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Dr. Ott was an amazing professor. She is sweet and genuinely caring of her students and her class is engaging and informative. Throughout the semester, we explored topics relevant to past and current education systems across countries. There are several papers and a group presentation, but it's nothing too daunting. There aren't any textbooks, so you don't have to worry about spending a fortune because there are only reading books. The books are rather eye-opening and give insight into US education systems and the disparity among different socioeconomic statuses.
Overall, I felt that this class has made me a more wholesome individual especially since I am going into the education field. I appreciated different models of education systems throughout countries and learned what types of systems should and shouldn't be implemented within classroom settings. It was interesting to discuss sensitive topics in a setting that is open and warm, especially with the current political climate.

Advice for students:
Plan your papers ahead and follow up with your classmates on the group presentation. The papers aren't difficult if you've done sufficient reading regarding the topic. She's very nice and understanding if you spend time talking to her about your needs and concerns. She is also a great resource for future references in the education field.
