Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is great if you want to understand more about the nutrition a variety of foods have and how it is optimal to the health of your body.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this class was learning about all the nutrients. I was unaware of the toxicity levels that certain nutrients could give someone if the individual consumed too much. For instance, Vitamin A can cause toxicity that can turn the skin orange and cause digestive problems.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would take more time to understand the little things. In the end those small things help to understand the bigger concepts.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anybody wanting an in-depth study into basic nutrition and health. Kathy Mellen is a great professor if you show interest in the course. I always sat in the first two rows which helped the professor get to know me personally which gets you a better grade!

    Course highlights:

I leanred a lot about vitamins and minerals, basic understanding of health in relation to nutrition. We did a project where we had to record everything that we ate in 3 days and then report that into a program. This was really fun because you got to see the break down of vitamins and minerals that you intake on a daily basis and make changes in your own diet.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take interest in the course, get to know the professor, and make sure to ask for help when you need it.
