This class was tough.
This class teaches you a lot of techniques for genetic analysis. It is more broad than specific, but I feel it prepared me well for future studies in genetics. Discussion sections had attendance taken, clicker questions counted towards your final grade, and there were four assignments and quizzes. These helped me out a lot. Take advantage of the fact that you are receiving grades for homework and quizzes and learn from your mistakes.
The section of this class focusing on classical genetics tied into the more modern analytical approaches to genetics well. I learned many biological techniques that had not been covered in my foundations of biology classes.

Advice for students:
It is very important to study for this class and keep up with the material. It moves very quickly. Professor Manek likes to talk more in depth than the slides he makes so it is also really important to attend all the lectures.
