Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I was able to take Into to psych in high school. I thought it would be something easy but it was very interesting and interactive. I learned a lot about human behavior which really sparked my interest. I even got to shadow a social worker who does intake for inpatient psychiatric counseling. It was amazing.

    Course highlights:

The greatest highlight was my shadowing experience. I spent the day with a hospital social worker who did intake evaluations for inpatient psychiatric patient placement. Some times I got to sit through the evaluation except for a patient who was considered too violent so I had to wait outside of the room. It was so interesting learning about the different diagnoses. We learned mainly about human behavior and about different jobs that utilize psychology.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

keep up with the readings and ask questions

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was an amazing course. Learning about psychology even as broadly as 101 does unlocks a lot of your minds secrets. It alerts you to behaviors you never realized you have done. It will make you reflect and could potentially make you a better person if you let it.

    Course highlights:

The connections with every day life that you have always acknowledged, but never really consciously seen. The "Ah ha" moments, so to speak. I learned a lot about myself in this course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it if you want to challenge yourself to think. It isn't difficult if you apply yourself to the situations and behaviors the professors will discuss. It will stick.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

My professor was very helpful, entertaining, and used all learning techniques to teach this large introductory course.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were the in-class activities and participation in experiments. I learned about the major psychologists, such as Chomsky, Freud, Erikson, and Piaget. We touched bases on the developmental aspects of psychology, theories, and experiments. A great intro class!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students to go to class, and take your own notes. Do not simply copy from the slides. Also, stop by the professors office hours if you have questions about class material. Form study groups for tests!
