Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course! The professor, Dr. David Russel, is very good at explaining concepts and relating them to real life experiences. The course content is not difficult, so if you pay attention and write down everything said during the lectures, you will do well on the exams!

    Course highlights:

This course is ecology and evolution based. The course discuses mitosis and meiosis in detail, the different cycles (water, carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus), and the evolution of both plants and animals (the synapomorphies of plants and animals).

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Write down everything said during lecture! Re-write your notes before the test and study/memorize all of the big ideas. Be able to explain all of the concepts discussed to a classmate - this will really tell you if you know the material or not! Good luck!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to others because the professors were amazing. By the end of the semester while preparing for the final exam, I realized that they had actually cared that I understand the material rather than just memorize it.

    Course highlights:

This course taught me how to study. The professors were adamant that we do not simply memorize the information, we learn how to understand and apply it to real life situations as well. Also, they pushed us to study with our fellow students and this definitely helped with my learning experience.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell them to type what the professor says, and then go back and write down all of the information on the power points and also what you wrote down. This helps with learning and studying to go over it multiple times. I would also recommend learning how to understand and apply the concepts you learn rather than just learn what something means.
