Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Very helpful teacher. Class attendance was mandatory. I am fairly certain that she gave study guides for exams, although I cannot remember for sure. Make sure to pay attention in class, the exams cover the majority of the material as well as what is covered during the lab portion. In addition, Dr. Pinyayev was more than willing to meet during office hours to clear up any confusion as well as review practice problems.

    Course highlights:

I had no previous chemistry experience, aside high school chemistry. She taught in a way that students master one step (atomic numbers, equations, etc) and then move on to more complicated problems and equations. She also had a teacher assistant (upperclassmen) that would take notes during class and hole a study group on Sunday nights.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to study hours, form study groups with peers, and go to professor's office hours!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Zhu is an amazing professor who always tries to keep his lectures interesting. The class content is not overly difficult if you are willing to put some time and effort in.

    Course highlights:

In this course you learn a lot about basic, introductory chemistry. You start with just basic compounds and formulas, then cover stoichiometry, thermochem, and gas laws. Later you learn about solutions, as well as bonding structures. Overall you learn a lot of surface level chemistry without going in depth on certain topics.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book if you are confused, do the homework, attend all lectures, and go to office hours if you can.
