    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

SPN 201 is a great course to start college with, assuming you've already completed several Spanish courses in high school. You will work mostly with new vocabulary and verb forms, and Professor Gomez makes it an enjoyable course for everyone. There are no large assignments!

    Course highlights:

One of the assignments was on a movie created by a Spanish horror film director. Don't worry, it wasn't scary, just a little creepy at brief moments! I really enjoyed the film, and oddly enough, it's become one of my favorites. Professor Gomez works very hard to make sure every student in actively involved in learning and that no one falls behind in course work.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Most of the course is online, so if you don't have access to a computer, this course is not for you. Do the practice work on your own! There's not time in class to go over every little detail, so it's a good idea to be responsible for your own education and do the extra practice!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Spanish is one of my favorite subjects in school but in taking this class, my love was furthered. Much of this had to do with the course professor who made the class interesting and created fantastic ways for all people of the class to improve their Spanish. Overall this was more of a review class for my level but I was presented with incredibly helpful ways to cement the basics of Spanish in my mind so that I can go on to build on these skills in the future.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course included the everyday group work that you did that allowed you to get to know other students and practice your Spanish. There was also a cultural assignment due towards the end of the semester that required you to do something outside of the class that incorporated Spanish. This helped me look into the cultural aspect of Spanish and helped bring the course full circle.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In this course always do the "Supersite" homework which gives you practice for each section. This homework is something the class goes over every class time and it is a good portion of your grade. Additionally that homework will help you get to know each section. I also strongly advise everyone to participate as much as possible. This is not only for your grade, but is incredibly helpful in getting used to speaking the language in a more relaxed setting. Speaking in class will also help you get ready for the oral interview you are required to do with the teacher towards the end of the course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is great! It was all online so it fit in my schedule and Professor Henson really takes the time to make sure you are getting enough practice with all of the grammar and vocabulary.

    Course highlights:

This course has dramatically increased my spanish vocabulary and confidence in speaking a new language.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you put in the time, its not easy, but with an honest effort you will do great! Study the grammar!
