This class was tough.
I would not recommend this class. I took this class because I do not enjoy science and thought this sounded like the easiest science class. This ended up being the hardest science class I have ever taken. The professor, while sweet and well-meaning, is very hard to follow because she is so intelligent in her field that she does not know how to explain it to people who have no idea. She expects you to learn everything that she's learned in her 20+ years of research in a semester. I managed to barely squeak out an A after about 30 hours of studying for the final.
The highlight of the course is that some of the material is somewhat interesting, as far as science goes. You learn about different areas of the world, including their climate, biome, rock formations, etc. This could be useful for non-science majors. However, you have to know how and why everything was formed in the entire world, including specific landforms.

Advice for students:
Do not take this class because you think it will be easy. It's definitely not. Only take it if you really love the subject matter and science in general.
