The class does a very good job of teaching the fundamentals of database systems and is very interactive in teaching style.
Students learn both the practical skills needed for working with relational databases, such as database design and SQL (and a brief introduction to NoSQL) as well as the theoretical aspects of relational algebra and normalization.
