    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course will fulfill a global studies requirement needed at Miami. This course is all about Deaf Culture. You not only get to learn about the history of deaf people and the current situation of deaf people, but you also get to learn some sign language too!

    Course highlights:

I learned some basic sign language, the alphabet and some basic phrases which would allow me to communicate with someone who were deaf. I also learned the history of deaf people and the kind of culture they hold.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would definitely consider this course if you are interested in possibly learning sign language or if you are taking a sign language course, that way you can learn more about the history of Deaf culture. The best advice I can give is to just pay attention in class, the material is very interesting and will not bore you. Reading the books assigned is also good, because that is where you get a lot of the discussion and understanding of Deaf culture.
