Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Considering how much the class has to cover, Dr. Galyen does a great job of making it an enjoyable, manageable and memorable learning experience. You cover conducting techniques, score study, literature and you get conducting experience (even if it is just the conducting class on their horns)

    Course highlights:

The best part about this course is Dr. Galyen. Hands down. His lectures are the most meaningful, so listen up on lecture days. Even during the conducting rounds, he managed to make the process meaningful.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Knock out the listening journals early. This saves you a bunch of time and trouble down the road. These are important to do well, but when things pick up and you have concerts and rehearsals and big ol' tests and juries right around the corner, you DON'T want to be bogged down by those. Also, just get to class on time. The dumbest reason to retake any class is because you were late too many times. You're paying too much money to waste time like that.
