    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I really liked it because it was challenging to me. There was a lot of work that needed to be done in a week. I taught myself to utilize my time wisely and to really buckle down and learn what I needed to learn. It was also very interesting to learn about poetry especially. I did not really know a lot about poetry before, but now I know so much.

    Course highlights:

I gained knowledge on what the poem or short stories are really trying to say. some of the readings were really complex but I feel like through this course I was able to see what the text was really trying to say to me. I know that will be something that will help me in my classes that are not even related ti literature.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read and then re read again. This course was tough. Make sure you have actually read the material you need to know or you will have no clue what your doing. The quizzes were difficult so make sure you know the poems and the stories very well.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The discussions involved in this course kept it interesting and easy to follow. For an intro course, it was thorough. Some of the reading required in this course can be daunting, but the open discussion helps give meaning to reading that may have gone over your head.

    Course highlights:

The main thing that I gained from taking this course was the ability to look at a story from multiple perspectives. When I read a piece of literature, I will typically decide what I think is going on- or what the author meant and move along. This course made me step back and take a look at these works from multiple viewpoints. Now when I read something, I am looking for any and all meanings.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the time to read the assigned readings! They may be long and some are hard to follow, but read them. Print the story out and highlight as you go. I like to highlight the parts that I feel are really important in one color and the parts that confuse me in another color. Now when it is time for discussions, it is easy to find my thoughts and questions.
