    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Tyler York is an excellent professor. He is engaging with his students, and really makes you think past what you would normally think when analyzing an art piece. His class doesn't just quiz you on the name of the artist or where he or she was born. You learn more in depth thinking and analyzing of art, and determine why that art was created or the purpose it served. You didn't just answer trivial questions in his exams; you really learned what made art pieces important.

    Course highlights:

There are many factors that are involved in the creation of art – political, social, and personal reasons are just to name a few. Tyler York teaches you the importance of staying observant of these factors, and educates on you on how to draw conclusions from such context.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Attendance was optional for this class, but the most crucial piece of information that I can give you to succeed in this class (or any class) is to GO TO CLASS. You miss too much valuable information if you don’t show up and listen and be engaged.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was interesting despite consisting of a lecture only. Riley managed to keep the class awake and listening to the history of different paintings.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was seeing how much I had learned. I didn't know much about art before this course and now I can see a painting and appreciate it more, while also drawing more inspiration from them.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Make note cards of the paintings throughout the semester because the midterm and final are short answer and essays. You don't want to have to cram all of the paintings into your memory the night before, because it won't work.
