    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it teaches you a lot about how the financial side of businesses work.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to document and what transactions go under for a business.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

During your free time look over the material and practice problems to stay ahead.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Even though I don't do accounting, Marci is an incredible professor that will make coming to class a delight, and the material itself is fascinating. Required learning for anybody in a business profession, in fact the budgeting and planning skills acquired from this course will transfer just about anywhere. On a grading platform receiving an A is not at all difficult with an hour or two a week outside of class dedicated to study and coursework.

    Course highlights:

Learning how to manage budgets and understanding the process of budgeting accounting, the way managers go about this process. I really enjoyed the semester long group project where you and a team create a product to sell and have to go through the process of developing budgets and how to market as well as sell and distribute this product. Excellent way to reinforce everything learned in lecture and lab sections as well as flesh out your creative side.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to actually go to all your classes and participate in the TopHat questions posted throughout class, extremely easy way to attain points and reduce the amount of outside studying you have to do given that the material is so well covered during class and reinforced effectively in lab. So show up, participate, take notes in the notes guide offered cheaply through the KU bookstore, and make sure to study at least a little bit outside of class, mostly only when tests are approaching.
