This class was tough.
Course Overview:
This is a rough fast paced course. Unless it is required for your major, don't take it. If it is required, Brennan is a great instructor.
Course highlights:
Derivatives, related rates, and more derivatives so far.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Don't just do the work, learn the material
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
Do not be afraid to ask questions! Mrs. Davis is more than willing to help with the course work and explain several different ways to understand. Also, know your trig by heart.
Course highlights:
How to manage my time and how to study, understand, and memorize mathematics thoroughly.
Hours per week:
9-11 hours
Advice for students:
Take it! It gives such a good insight to the magic of mathematics and its applicable to physics, engineering, and everyday life!
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I recommend the course but not this particular professor. He doesn't explain the material well and cares more about making jokes than actually preparing students for test day. The test and online material is also made by Professor Brennan and so I would recommend enrolling in his lecture if at all possible.
Course highlights:
I gained an insight into the fundamentals of calculus. I learned to take derivatives as well as basic integration techniques. It's a very thorough course compared to typical calculus courses because it's rated for engineers.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
I'd advise studying early and often. If you get the chance to watch the pre-lecture video, take it. It's difficult to retain all of the information needed in a simple 50 minute lecture and having a fundamental understanding before going to lecture will enhance your understanding. Also be sure to complete the recommended as well as the assigned homework for a complete understanding.
