    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this class because it helps students understand the culture of spanish speaking countries, and it teaches a better understanding of hispanic heritage in the U.S.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed learning about different aspects of hispanic/latino culture. There are focuses on history, census type data, food, music, daily life vs. tourist attrations, and current events and issues.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

This course has preparation from online (Acceso) for each class meeting and there are MySpanishLab online assignments as well. These are easy points to get, so don't forget about them or procrastinate. Also, if there is no stated written homeowork for a section, but students are asked to read the section online, there is most likely a pop quiz the next day in class, so do the readings. Participation counts in this course, so try to speak at least once every day to maximize your grade. Furthermore, this course is heavy on culture, so if a student is looking for a course to help with speaking and learning more vocabulary, this isn't necessarily going to help in that regards. However, it gives students a better understanding of events and gives them a variety of things to speak about.
