    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend Organic Chemistry. It is a class that is really going to stretch your mind and push you on a different level than General Chemistry would. You get a lot more lab time then you did in General Chemistry and it is a very cool experience.

    Course highlights:

Since Organic Chemistry is usually taken Sophomore year I believe it really sets the tone for your remaining years. General Chemistry is something that a lot of people experience in high school but Organic is something new all together. It is the first Chemistry class that will be completely new for most people. It really showed me if I was going to like pursuing Chemistry or not and taught me a lot about hard work and perseverance. It also taught me that it is okay to ask for help. I generally do not like to ask people for help and like to figure things out on my own. Since Organic was a very difficult course I found myself needing more help than I would have liked but it taught me that asking for help is not a bad thing at all.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to stay on top of things. Many classes you can slack off every other week it seems but in Organic Chemistry you really need to buckle down and commit. No longer is school just a game anymore, it is the path towards your future and you need to take it seriously. So stay committed to reviewing Organic every day or you will get behind and it will be hard to catch up. Also, do not be afraid to ask for help! I spent a lot of time in my professors office so that I could be sure I really understood the material.
