    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this course due to the subject matter involved (the bible), and the way he teaches it. Dr. Miller is so passionate about the Old Testament and is constantly vouching for its excellence. I guess you could say he rubbed off on me and I'm now an OT enthusiast as well. I'll see him next semester too since I love it that much.

    Course highlights:

The Torah (the first 5 books of the Old Testament) is the law. Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and Leviticus were all taught with a lens based in fact and faith. We were taught to view such things through the eyes of someone in THAT time not our own. Thus it became my favorite section of the class.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to split your studying up into sections. Cramming doesn't work in this class at all so don't try it. There's just too much information for it to not wear you down and leave you exhausted come test day. If you split it into thirds even, then you can breathe.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Dickens is a fantastic professor who just loves what he teaches and loves to help students. He doesn't believe in forcing his opinions on you, and wants to make your own, which is awesome.

    Course highlights:

Well, I went in thinking I knew the Old Testament and came out realizing I knew nothing going in! Dickens starts with Genesis and then depending on time the rest of the semester, he gets through as much of the rest of the OT as he can. He's thourough and his study guides for tests are almost exactly what is on the test plus his notes.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the study guides!!! If you don't, you will most definitely fail his exams. He's giving you the answers, so do them!
