    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Of all my professors at Centre, Dr. Badie speaks and teaches with the most passion and enthusiasm. I truly looked forward to every class with her. Even when the course material was difficult, I was still excited to come to class and learn from her. She speaks eloquently and thoroughly and inspired me to discuss our material out of class and with my friends and family.

    Course highlights:

With the current political climate in America, people sometimes struggle with conveying their opinions in a way that is both productive and persuasive. Dr. Badie taught us how to talk about the Middle East and the issues therein in a way that is smart and thorough. After taking her class, I felt much more comfortable presenting my opinion and information I learned to the people around me. She not only teaches students the course material, she teaches students how to talk about the material outside of class with their peers, other faculty, etc.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you can take any class with Dr. Badie, especially Middle Eastern Politics, DO IT! You won't regret it. It was the most interesting class I've taken at Centre without question. As far as studying, you definitely need to do all the readings to succeed. Sometimes the coursework gets heavy and emailing her with clarifying questions was very helpful to me. She usually has a line of people outside her office during office hours, so try to go early or email her with concise questions.
