Not too easy. Not too difficult.

Dr. Osterhage is the best Biology professor. She makes learning fun, and easy. Dr. O is a very organized professor, who really cares about the success of her students.

    Course highlights:

I learned the basics of Biology and a lot of other really interesting information about what goes on in my body as I am typing this right now.

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study! Go to class! Ask her any questions you might have, she answers all of them!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

First off, I would have to say that this course is best taken with Osterhage. She makes it fun and easy to learn. For people who do not excel in science or biology this class is not difficult. However, you have to be willing to put in the time to study. Her tests are straight forward, there aren't any trick questions. If you read your course notes and use the practice exams you will be in great shape!

    Course highlights:

A lot of this course is basic biology. The course focuses on Evolution of Biodiversity. They focus on looking at organisms through a common ancestor. Questions you would see would involve "Who is more closely related based on the phylogenetic tree?" Everything in this course builds up at a nice pace, so it may sound confusing but it is very thoroughly explained before it comes time for exams.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You definitely need to go to class! She provides outlined notes that you fill in "blanks" for and add other details you find important. I would make sure you always have those handy because they pretty much outline everything you need to know for the exams. Before each exam, I recommend studying through the chapters on the exam about 1-2 weeks before the test. You will still be taking notes all the way up until the exam but the practice exams from previous semesters help with those areas. I would also take the time to go to office hours if you are having any difficulties studying a particular area of the course. She is very thorough and will help with whatever questions you have. Also, she provides a link that classmates can ask questions and either she or another student can respond. I always found that helpful when doing homework or reviewing for an exam. Best of luck!
