    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a good course to take and is required for many science majors. Dr. Bowling is a great person and a good professor, however his exams are terrible. Too much information is covered between exams and no matter how much you study, you may never be fully prepared. If he talks about something for more than 30 seconds, (even if it's never mentioned again or in the notes), there is a chance of it being on the exam.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course was when we got to do group work. This happened very seldomly, but I was able to learn alot by bouncing off my thoughts and ideas from my peers. The course consisted of a basic introduction to biological concepts.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Advice I would give to students considering this course would be to make sure that you get a professor that can teach the concepts well, but also make quizes and exams relevant to materials covered, (in other words, make sure you get a professor that makes it easy to study for exams because there is a lot of material to be covered).

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

While this course is required for most biology or chemistry-related majors, it is also a valuable course to take. It is a good way to refresh your knowledge of basic biology, while also learning the material on a deeper level.

    Course highlights:

BIO 150 covers the basics of microbiology, like cell replication, DNA and RNA processing, cellular respiration, and genetics.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are taking the course from Professor Kues, study hard! He doesn't allow for simple memorization and regurgitation of the material. He wants his students to fully understand the material and be able to apply it to different scenarios. Review the material before you cover it in lecture, otherwise you will be lost. Attend the supplemental instruction (SI) sessions! They were my saving grace!

    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this course because the professor is very well informed about this subject matter and he makes everything very clear for students. In addition it is four credit hours with the supplementary lab classes and it helps broaden one's knowledge of life sciences and it is very fun and easy.

    Course highlights:

When the professor made us write bio parodies of popular songs, that was the highlight of the class. This helped us memorize challenging concepts in a fun way.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Complete the saplings on time and always do the practice tests before an exam.
