Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this class if you like discussion. Dr. Madera is an excellent professor. The way we were able to engage, and share our opinions on generally controversial topics was remarkable. The things that I learned during the course of this class will definitely follow me for the rest of my life.

    Course highlights:

What I learned from taking this course is how race, and gender play a role in the criminal justice system. As well as historical cases that show examples of how race and gender play huge roles in the criminal justice system. My favorite part of this course was discussion, I loved listening to others opinions in an attempt to see their point of view, as well as giving my opinion on the subject.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The key to success in this class is participation. Asking questions and listening will ensure success. There a very few materials that need to be read, but as long as you keep up with them the course is very doable.

I would recommend this course for a general education course. This course was very interesting and kept my interest every class. I never dreaded this course and Professor Hernandez made this class as fun as possible which really helped me succeed.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was learning about how race, gender and crime really apply to the real world. I learned about how different kinds of people are judged based off the history of their ethnicity which was very interesting.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Professor Hernandez gives a study guide before each test so you should definitely use this helpful tool. I aced every test because I used the study guide.
