Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

To me, I think this is an important subject to master and be aware about because biology surrounds us. Science is complex and can be connected to human beings making it that much more interesting. Knowing the general principles of biology, including how cells work and the parts of a cell, the different kingdoms and species is something I believe everyone should know about. Biology is what makes up life, it teaches us how humans and animals operate.

    Course highlights:

There were many highlights from taking Biology. First, I was required to take this lecture class with a lab so on top of all the information I was learning, I got to do hands-on activities with my classmates which made learning the material much more fun and easier to learn. I learned so much during the semester. I learned about cells, how cells work, what happens when cells do not work, kingdoms, species, translation, transcription, what is found inside of a cell, the difference between eukaryote and prokaryote cells, etc. There was an incredible amount of learning but I can definitely say I am aware and know information on all these concepts. Even though there was a lot to study, this class made me a much organized person because I had to split up my reading every night so I was able to know what was going on the next biology class I had. Overall, this class was amazing.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I believe in order to do well in this class you need be organized and devote time a decent amount of time. There is a lot of information given to you by the professor but it is your job to take that information and make sense of it. I used numerous amounts of flashcards. After each class, I would go back to my dorm and make flashcards and read out of the textbook on the information that was just taught in class. Then, for the following days I would study those cards and make more as I went to biology. Doing this everyday really helped me understand the concepts very well. Studying is key in this class so make sure you are organized and manage your time good enough so it is possible to do well in the class.
