Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to everybody who has a bit of trouble talking in public. Even though it is an online class, I learned a lot about public speaking, body language, the do's and dont's of a presentation, and much more. I felt like I held the advantage to prepare myself and present my work at my own time, versus going into a classroom, ready or not, and presenting my work.

    Course highlights:

At first I was very nervous about taking a Public Speaking course online, but the professor made the whole experience really fun and exciting. From the first assignment to introduce ourselves by recording a greeting to the last assignment, I had a lot of fun, while improving my Public Speaking skills and feeling more comfortable talking in front of a camera and in front of people. The professor made us feel as if we were in an actual classroom instead of just another online class. We had to see each other's presentation and make constructive criticism. I finished this class wishing every online class I took had the same idea of video introduction! It made us all more humans, instead of just words on computers.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This class will be as challenging as you allow it to be. Take your time preparing each presentation and rehearse it in front of a mirror before recording it. It took me a few recordings before I could submit a good copy to my professor. Stay calm, and remember to smile!

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Whether you are comfortable with public speaking or not, this course will help you to be prepared when you have to make a presentation.

    Course highlights:

There are different aspects to public speaking other than standing in front of everyone and taking. You will have to know what tone to use, what method of presenting is applicable for the audience and to not speak too short to too long.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go for it, you can't lose taking this course.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This class allows you to practice giving speeches in front of an audience. It also teaches you the different types of speeches in which are given on a daily basis. Great learning opportunity.

    Course highlights:

I learned better ways to stand still, speak clearly, and pause accurately throughout my speeches.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Though a laptop camera will work, I would suggest having a camera set up on a tripod.
