    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is a requirement, but it is fairly ineffective the way it was taught when I took it. It was a monday night class, and five or six court cases would be assigned. The courses didn't seem to have all that much in common and the class was a little scattered and easy to get off track at times. I think now it is being offered as a class three times a week, which would be an improvement.

    Course highlights:

I learned a ton about trademark and the difference between copyright and trademark and personality rights. It's very important material for music industry majors to learn, so try your best to pay attention even though it is super dry at times.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep notes on the basics of the court cases and the rulings. It will make it much easier later if you know the gist of what the case is. Print out the powerpoints. It is impossible to copy them all down by hand and he does not allow you to use your laptop. Pray for the curve.
