    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Learning the fundamentals of how congress and laws work is a valuable piece of knowledge to have throughout life. It helps build a student that is well versed in their concentration as well as knowing the concepts of our government and how it impacts individual lives.

    Course highlights:

The highlights would be the lecture. Nicholls is called it's own 'Harvard on the Bayou'. It couldn't be more accurate while describing government classes. The lectures are interactive and current events every week helps to keep students informed on real life issues. I learned that congress controls the supreme court and that there's a great separation in powers between state and federal. I also learned that judges are the most likely to face impeachment because there are over 600 judges, therefore replacing one that has committed a crime is far easier, as well as the fact that judges serve a term of 'good behavior', not life- since they can be impeached.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it and learn to love Thysell, he may seem a little crazy at first but there is a method to his madness. The amount of knowledge he has is unfathomable, so soak it up and give this class your all. Must take course for students considering law school since he prepares you for the rigorous courses law school demands of students.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it serves as a good beginner course into Amercian government. The notes and tests are straight forward and easily understood by most people.

    Course highlights:

You had group discussions where you could voice your opinions on different political issues. You also gained insight into the professor's views on various political issues.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to every class and take thorough notes. Try to spend at least a few hours each week studying tour lecture notes from class.
