Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this class. Mrs. Garcia is an amazing instructor, who truly cares about the success of her students. She is helpful, encouraging, and teaches lectures extremely well. I was extremely lucky to have such a wonderful instructor for my first level of clinical, she made the transition from general classes to clinical classes smooth and less stressful.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much information that I will use throughout my nursing career. I learned how to give medications, insert an indwelling urinary catheter, change a wound dressing, identify fluid and electrolyte imbalances, and so much more. It is amazing going from knowing almost nothing about nursing techniques and procedures, to knowing so much more than I could imagine, in just two and a half months.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Take good notes during lecture, study your notes and ATI books, and be confident. Taking good notes is key to making good grades on exams. The ATI books that correlate with our entire course are the best books I have ever had in college, ATI is a life saver. Nursing Clinical students must put in adequate time and effort into studying, even if it means giving up your Saturday, to be successful throughout school. All the studying is most definitely worth it once you start working with actual patients in the hospital setting.
