    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class, because the professor teaches the students about calculus in a way that forces them to apply the overarching ideas to the small details.

    Course highlights:

For me, this class was crucial in developing the study habits necessary to succeed in school.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, study, go to office hours, and study.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Riedel can be a little scattered during the lectures, but if you go in for office hours he will walk you through problems and is very helpful. Other professors differ and I don't know if it changes year to year but this year we only had quizzes and then the departmentalized midterm and final. Big tests weren't terribly hard, and my TA (bless his soul) made the quizzes pretty easy as well because they were based directly off the homework problems. That being said, I took AB calc in high school and if I had not had that background I feel like this class would have been quite the challenge.

    Course highlights:

For me it was basically a review of AB calc from functions to basic integrals. I learned that a college final worth 40% of your grade sucks when you blank on dumb stuff in the test and pull your A down to an A- but hey that's life.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework, go into to office hours, don't forget L'hopitals rule on the final. Basic stuff that you'll need for any class really. Oh and ask questions in the TA session. Idk about all TAs but mine was very good about clearing things up that Riedel made confusing.
