    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great entry level course into linguistics. Professor Orie is adorable and sweet, but the lecture is very attendance based. She does not post the power points online so you must attend. If you participate in class, are attentive, and nice, she will give you an A, regardless of if you work is perfect or not. Put in effort, and she will see that and help you succeed. Good luck!

    Course highlights:

I gained a thorough background on all the languages in the world, as well as an appreciation for the evolution of language over the centuries.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't stress over the midterm. Most of the weight comes in the last 2 weeks of school (70% of the grade is the final project and final). You don't really need the book!
