    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

As Biology Pre-Med Major I struggled with Biology. After the first semester of taking general Biology, I realized that it is important to have a consistent study schedule and maintain regular meetings with the professor during office hours. Although biology is a challenging course, Dr. McFerrin was very helpful in answering questions and was always available during office hours.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of Biology 1240 were the lectures. Dr. McFerrin would distribute worksheets that would help in learning the material. These worksheets included diagrams of the human Anatomy and would be beneficial when studying for exams. These diagrams helped me learn about the human eye, ear, brain, and nervous system. Now, for future classes, I will look for my own diagrams because they were so helpful in memorization.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

When taking Biology 1240, I recommend a consistent study routine. Make sure to keep up with all of material taught In class. If you do not understand the material, try finding a tutor or another friend that can help. Also, if the class becomes to challenging do not give up, instead try to find a better way to study. I find the best way to study in Biology is by drawing out charts and diagrams.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Awad is a great resource for learning outside of class. He's especially helpful if you go to his office hours after attending class. He can explain tough topics in many different ways until you can understand. Great, patient professor!

    Course highlights:

This class is a more in depth study of BIO 1. You have to have a good understanding of 1 to get all the details for this class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go back over your BIO 1 notes if you need help connecting some topics. If you still can't understand just talk to the professor.
