Explanation

Hypothesis refers to a proposed explanation made for a particular observation that is based on very limited evidence. Formulation of hypothesis forms a crucial part of scientific method [series of steps followed by experimenters in order to investigate the scientific questions about the natural world].

For a hypothesis to have the component of falsifiability, the statement made should be such that its falsehood can be demonstrated. This means that if there is failure to find the predicted effect, then the failed results are to be considered as evidence against the hypothesis.

Verified Answer

A well-formulated hypothesis should be stated in such a manner that it is possible to reject it on the basis of either observations or experimental studies.
