Is a personal computer sold at a retail store a consumer product or a business product? Defend your answer.
Business products are the products that are for resell or used in the production of some other products.
Consumer products are purchased for the personal uses by the customers.
Business products are purchased with the intention to resell or for the production of another product or in any way used for the business operations.
Personal computers that are sold at the retail stores are consumer products when bought by a customer for personal use. However, when the same computer is bought for business reasons then it is a business product. It is so because the computer will aid the customer with his business operations.
If the computers are used for personal purposes at home then it can be classified as consumer products. But when it is used for business purposes, it is classified as a business product.
