What is the difference between unauthorized access and unauthorized use?
Authorized members should have the authority to access the permitted resources of an organization.
Unauthorized access takes place when someone uses a network or system without the owner's permission by connecting to the system and logging in as a valid user.
Unauthorized use is using the system resources for illegal activities even after having an authorized access to the system. For instance, an employee may have an authorized access to the network but using the resource for their personal work will be considered as an unauthorized use.
Unauthorized access refers to the use of a system or network without permission whereas unauthorized use refers to the use of a system or its information for illegal or unapproved activities.
