Question

2a. The population of St. Louis in 2010 was 319,294 and

declined over the next several years. In 2018 it was 302,838. (Data from the census bureau: census.gov). Assume for purposes of this problem that the population declined by the same percentage each year. What was the annual "growth factor" during this time?

2b. If, during a different time period, St. Louis had a 20-year decline factor of 0.96075, by what percentage did the population of that city decline each year? Again, we are assuming the population change was the same each year.
