- 3x/(x+1) - 2 <= 0 then [3x/(x+1) - 2(x+1)/(x+1)] <=0 then [3x - 2(x+1)]/(x+1) <= 0 then simplify, you will get (x-2)/(x+1) <= 0. Critical values are x = 2 and x = -1. Test the intervals of x < -1, -1 < x <= 2 and x >=2, you will find that the interval -1
