How did Attar's, The Conference of the Birds, about the ideal path to enlightenment modify earlier Islamic teachings?
Analyze Attar's text, The Conference of the Birds, to show how he modified one of these ideas?
Some of the ideas I believe he modified through his use of allegory and by illustrating points about God and the soul; how ishq (passionate love) contributes to true enlightenment or how he changed the meaning of worldly desires or possessions. However, I do not quite understand how he modified these ideals within, or its impact on, early Islamic teachings. I know Attar's, The Conference of the Birds, impacted both of these ideas but I am unsure of exactly how it effected/ impacted Islamic teachings after it was written.
