Today everything revolves around social media. Public relations has many different definitions. In my opinion public relations is the state of the relationship between the public and a company or an organization. So basically, public relations involves shaping and maintaining the image of a company or organization. Public relations plays a huge role in communication between the "consumer and buyer" or the company and the public. Without public relations it would be harder for organizations to make the public aware of the business brand, successes and/or contributions. A great public relations campaign will highlight the organizations products and services. The main goals in public relations is to build relationships to advance, promote, or benefit the organization; communicating the organization's 'message' to gain allies, advocates, and supporters; marketing the department for recruitment purposes; demonstrate to funding agencies that the organization is making a difference, improving the reputation of the company; and so on.
