There is no word count. Lets talk about Niche Marketing a segmentation. Niche marketing is very important to the success of small businesses. Look at the satellite companies. Dish Network and Directv were both born out of the need for television services in the rural areas of the US. When satellite was born, it was the first time rural areas could even watch a football game on TV.
This spawned the evolution of the satellite dish, a major player in the television services market today. They are the companies they are today because they targeted customers that were too costly and/or too small for the big cable companies to deal with.
How can deciding to go after a niche market be beneficial for a small business and customers? What advantages do small businesses have focusing on niche markets that the big companies cannot compete with? What are the disadvantages? Can targeting a niche be a bad thing? What are the risks?
