It is usually argued that values, morals and ethics are the outcome of the personal influences. These influences vary according to the objectives, cultural beliefs, attitudes, understanding and preferences of an individual. Values have been taught to many people since childhood, which can be seen in their character. Morals are intrinsic beliefs developed by the value systems and ethics is to know the difference between right and wrong. Between values, morals and ethics, personal influences play the important role because an individual carries out the activity according to their morals and ethics result in the outcome. Right versus right usually goes by the code of conduct and what is best for the organization. Right versus wrong goes by how certain things should work and it does not necessarily apply with the code of conduct. There are several situations when a leader need to select between right versus right and right versus wrong. This decision makes you lead and manage others effectively.

There are many conflicting situations when organizational processes and procedures collide with their own ethics. These situations are where the organization also influences the decision. For example, Human Resources got the order from the management staff to lay off some workers and supervisors. Ethically, the decision is not correct and the manager does not want to do the same. The decision is influenced by the organization and he/she need to carry out the activities as advised by the management staff.

In addition, there are several decisions which are globally and nationally influenced especially in case of the global environment. There are some concerns which require leadership skills which can lead people in specific directions. This is because the global environment comprises of different cultures and several challenges which can be overcome through effective leadership skills that can be adapted according to the place of operations.

Leaders often lose their way because of the non-achievement of diversification in the leadership role. The role and impact of a leader change varies in different cultures. It is not necessary that the same is successful in different cultural environments. An effective leader is one who adapts and implements different approaches according to the employees who wish to be followers.
