I need help understanding the following how is 14C a naturally occurring isotope of carbon. What is the natural abundance (as a fraction of total carbon present) of 14C in living matter. Also how is 14C a stable isotope. If not, what is its half-life and what would be the expected overall ratio of 14C in biological remains known to be 24,000 years old to living matter.
