why is this a oxidation-reduction reaction? whats getting oxidised and reduced?
H2C2O4(aq) + H2O2 (aq) ® 2 CO2 (g) + 2 H2O (l)

- thanks . do u know an easier way to identify an ox red reaction or is the only way to find out by writing the oxidation number for each element. also whats the oxidation number for each element in 2HCl will Cl be -1 or -2? do we have to multiply by the balancing coefficient to find the oxidation number?

- To determine ox-red reaction, determining of oxidation state of elements is the best process. oxidation state of Cl in HCl = -1. No. balancing coefficient does not multiply to find the oxidation number.
