Can you please help me understand how to solve this problem? These are the amounts I am working with

Ammonium Chloride mass = 0.529g

Sand mass = 6.645g 

Powdered mixture initial mass = 10g


The amount of sodium chloride in the original mixture can be determined indirectly by subtracting the masses of ammonium chloride and sand from the initial mass of the powdered mixture. Calculate the percent difference between the results from the two methods using the following equation:


      (measured mass)-(mass by subtraction)

% difference = -------------------------------------   X100

                              mass by subtraction


This is what I have so far:


                     (measured mass)-(mass by subtraction)

% difference = -------------------------------------  X100

                             mass by subtraction


Ammonium Chloride mass = 0.529g

Sand mass = 6.645g 

Powdered mixture initial mass = 10g


                           (7.174g)-(10g)

% difference = --------------------------- X100 = 71.74

                              10g

% difference = 7.174g
