I am really having trouble figuring out the step-by-step process to

find Lattice Energy (the endothermic lattice energy, that is.)


I am finding 3 different equation types and even then, I'm so lost on how the variables are calculated.


I am finding


ΔHlattice=C(Z+)(Z−)/Ro


F∝= (Q1)(Q2)/ Ro
I found this one on Khan Academy when looking for the information I needed. Are they the same equation? They look similar.


And then the Born-Haber Cycle, which I am not looking for, because that actually comes after the unit that I'm working in to find what I need. I'm using Chemistry 2 by Openstax Chemistry e2 available online at https://openstax.org/books/chemistry-2e/pages/7-5-strengths-of-ionic-and-covalent-bonds.


The biggest thing I can't seem to understand is how to figure out what the sum of the Radii are of the positive and negative ions. Where is that number coming from and how to do I get it?


A step-by-step guide on how to solve this type of equation, from start to finish -- including how to find the variables (it seems more involved than it looks, from what I see online, but I could be wrong, but DANG I'm lost!)
