Title Vanillin is an organic compound with the molecular formula CH Oa. It is a phenolic aldehyde with the functional groups of aldehyde, hydroxyl, and ether. Vanillin both naturally occurring and synthetically produced. It is used in flavourings, foods, perfumes, and pharmaceuticals. Chromatography is an important biophysical technique that enables the separation, identification, and purification of the components of a mixture for qualitative and quantitative analysis. Gas Chromatography (GC) and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) can be used to separate vanillin in food and essential oils.
