.) For the reaction X----> Y ; rate = 0.66/min X. If you start with a 0.500 M solution of X , what is the concentration of X after 1.34 min?

.) For the reaction X---->Y; rate =  0.66/min ⌈X⌉.  If you start with a 0.500 M solution of X, what is the concentration of X after 1.34 min?

.) For a reaction X-----> Y;  rate = 0.259/min ⌈X⌉.  What is the half life for the reaction?

.) For the reaction X----> Y; rate =  0.59/min ⌈X⌉.  How many minutes will it take for the X concentration to fall from 1.1 M to 0.100 M.

.) The reaction X----> Y is second in order in X; with k = 1.03 (L/mol∙sec).  Calculate the rate when the concentration of X = 0.868 mol/L.

.) What is the half-live of an unstable compound if 75 % of any given amount of the substance decomposes in 8.86 hours?

  • For 1,2,3 the reaction order is 1, not 0 (see measurement units for k). For 4, the measurement unit for result is L/(mol.s).
